Wadestown

Access seem tricky with those Wellington hills?
This was a great challenge for the Nice Pozi landscaping team.

We established a whole temporary access staircase as the only other option would have been to cart materials through the living room!

This one took us 4 weeks to complete. The work involved demolishing and removing an existing failed retaining wall and constructing 2 entirely new walls and building oversized steps to the base of the path.
We decided to mirror the lower retaining wall on the other side of the steps by creating a planter box with a feature olive tree. Concrete was pumped for retaining wall post holes via several neighbouring properties.

In the lower garden we added a built in raised planter box. Gardens above the retaining walls we did a thorough clear out before putting back garden mix with a compostable wool mulch mat for weed suppression and retaining moisture for the plants. Some plants were transplanted from various parts of the section with a few new additions also. Steps have been edged with H5 Pinus radiata 200x100 sleepers with the treads finished with a tinted oxide concrete infill.
